Set up a Single Sign-On connection (SSO)

The SSO integration is available to teams who have subscribed to the Business Plan.

Drovio only supports SP-initiated sign-in flows for now (meaning you can only sign in using the app or from our website)

Benefits of the Single Sign-On

Team administrators can enable single sign-on (SSO) as an extra layer of security and simplicity for their team members:
Users don't need to remember yet another password, they sign in to Drovio using your identity provider and with their corporate account.
If you have any 2FA configured at your identity provider, it will also work with Drovio

As of now, Drovio supports SAML.

How to to configure your SSO setup?

Step 1: Configure your identity provider

Before anything else, you'll need to create an app or an integration on your identity provider's platform.

Step 2: Set up SSO for Drovio

Head to https://app.drovio.com/account/team.
Click on the SSO tab and go to Step 2.
Enter a vanity name. We recommend that you use your company name. Your team members will need to use that vanity name to sign in on the app.
Select IdP metadata URL or xml and enter it, depending on what your identity provider does provide you with.
The Service Provider (SP) entity ID is what we'll send to your IdP. Generally, you won't need to change that value. The default one is https://drovio.com.
Click on Save.
In Step 3, copy the callback URL and enter it in your app's configuration on your IdP's platform (also referred as ACS or SSO URL).
You will need to map some attributes so Drovio can automatically provision accounts for users. The required ones are email, that must be mapped to a user valid email address and username that can be mapped to IdP user's first name, username or anything. The username attribute is used as a display name on Drovio and appears next to users' avatar in the app's contact list or next to their mouse cursors during a session.

What to expect after SSO is enabled

Please allow a few minutes to a day before your changes are fully propagated (to our DNS and to all our servers). Your team members will then be able to sign in using their SSO credentials either on the app or on our web platform.

Should you experience any issue while configuring SSO, be sure to reach out to us either at support@drovio.com or by using the chat icon at the bottom right of your screen if available, we'll be happy to assist you.
